How To Reheat Brownies To Perfection?

Brownies are a delicious dessert that everyone can enjoy. They are delicious and perfect for a quick dessert or snack. They are also easy to make and don’t require many ingredients.

However, when it comes time to reheat brownies, there are many different ways to do so. But what should you do when you want to enjoy some brownies, but they’re too cold?

You can reheat them in the oven, microwave, or even in a pan. Here are the steps for each of these methods.

The Best Way To Reheat Frozen Brownies?

The brownies will heat more evenly if you thaw them before reheating. Thaw them at room temperature and wrap them after removing them from the freezer.

They can then be reheated in the oven or microwave. You can also reheat your brownies straight from the freezer if you want. Using the microwave in this area is a good idea.

Warm your brownies on a microwave-safe plate for 15 seconds at 50% power, then unwrap and place them on a microwave-safe plate.

Another option is to use the oven. First, place your brownies on a baking sheet after completely unwrapping them. Then, for an 8–10-minute slice, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).

To prevent the top from over-browning or burning, cover them with foil during most of the reheating process.

How To Reheat Brownies To Perfection

1. Using A Skillet To Reheat Brownies

Pour some water around the edge of the skillet and heat over medium-low heat. Cover the brownie in the middle of the pan using a lid to create steam. Continue cooking until heated through.

How To Reheat Brownies In A Skillet:

  • First, make sure your skillet is medium-low.
  • Water the edge of the pan with 3 to 4 tablespoons.
  • Prepare the pan by placing the brownie in the center.
  • Put a lid on it.
  • Warm brownies by heating or steaming them.

The best method for this is to use a non-stick pan. Adding a little oil to the pan before heating will prevent the brownies from sticking.

Here’s What I Think

I just didn’t find this method to be effective. (Brownies are pretty hard to mess up, so it’s kind of hard to ruin the taste).

However, the bottom of the brownie started cooking more quickly than the rest of it. As a result, both types of brownies had an uneven texture that I didn’t like. Therefore, a skillet is not recommended.

2. Using A Toaster To Reheat Brownies

If your toaster has a built-in heat rack, this method will work best for you. Toaster the brownie on the high setting, place it on the heating rack, and cook until it reaches the desired temperature. In addition, you can place a wire rack over the toaster, but this can be dangerous.

Toasting Brownies: How To Do It:

  • Put a heating rack or wire rack over the toaster.
  • Make sure your brownie is placed above the toaster slots on the rack.
  • Toast brownies on HIGH until the desired temperature is reached.

The wire rack method requires some care if you set it on top of the toaster since the rack can fall into the slots and cause electrocution.

Take great care. As I don’t have a suggested time here, the timing depends entirely on your toaster. Until you can feel the brownie, just keep touching it.

The Verdict

Even though it’s unusual to reheat a baked good, this method gave surprisingly good results in both cases.

By warming them with indirect heat, the brownies didn’t cook further, and their texture did not change.

3. Using An Air Fryer To Reheat Brownies

You can reheat brownies in an air fryer by setting them to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Heat the brownies for one minute; for multiple slices, heat them for longer. To prevent overheating, keep an eye on the brownies often.

How To Reheat Brownies In An Air Fryer:

  • Ensure that the air fryer is set at 350°F (180°C).
  • Put brownies in the fryer basket.
  • For a single slice, heat for one minute, and for multiple portions, heat for an additional minute.

There is a possibility of overcooking food in air fryers. For example, it only takes 30 seconds to ruin a small brownie if you wait too long.

Once the brownie is hot, I find it easier to remove it with parchment paper under it. Burning your fingers on a scorching brownie is never a good idea.

Here’s What I Think

I found this method to be okay, but there is very little room for error. Be cautious. There was some dryness in the regular brownies, but the fudgy brownies were very gooey and tasty. Air fryers are less likely to dry out foods because they are moister, to begin with.

4. Using An Oven Or Toaster Oven To Reheat Brownies

You can prepare your bread by preheating your oven or toaster oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake the brownies for 5 minutes on a baking sheet. Cover the baking sheet loosely with aluminum foil if you are reheating a large slab or an entire batch.

Bake for 10 to 20 minutes, removing the foil for the last five minutes. The total heating time can be shortened by several minutes if you use a toaster oven.

How To Reheat Brownies In The Oven Or Toaster Oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
  • Prepare a baking sheet by placing brownies on it. If you are reheating a large slab, cover it with foil.
  • Depending on the size of the slab, it will take from 3 to 5 minutes for a single slice and 15 to 20 minutes for a large slab.
  • To crisp up the top of a large slab, remove the foil for the last 5 minutes of cooking.

It is beneficial to use aluminum foil when baking brownies for a large slab to prevent them from drying out too much. However, if you’re reheating just one slice, you won’t need it because it won’t stay in the oven long enough to dry out.

The total cooking time will vary if your brownies are thick or thin. When you reheat brownies from the refrigerator, they’ll take a little longer than when you reheat them at room temperature.

Here’s My Verdict

The method I preferred was this one. The results were better than the other methods (although a toaster oven is faster).

Despite the nice crust on top, there was still some moisture in the regular brownies. There was still some bite to the fudgy brownies, and they weren’t as melty as the microwaved brownies.

Please note that I reheated slices. So, your results may be drier if you’re doing a whole slab.

5. The Microwave Can Be Used To Reheat Brownies

If you want to reheat brownies in the microwave, place one or two on a plate that can be heated in the microwave.

A damp paper towel can be used to cover stale brownies. For one brownie, microwave it on HIGH for 20 to 30 seconds until it’s warmed through.

How To Reheat Brownies In The Microwave:

  • Prepare a microwave-safe plate by placing one or two brownies on it.
  • Use a damp paper towel to cover stale brownies.
  • For approximately 20 to 30 seconds, microwave on HIGH in 10-second intervals.
  • Before eating the brownies, let them rest for 30-60 seconds.

If you want to reheat one or two slices at a time, I recommend doing so one at a time. Uneven heating will result from too many slices. The moist paper towel will prevent stale brownies from drying further and add some moisture back to them.

You can get soft, gooey brownies if you use a damp paper towel on not-so-stale brownies. Also, be careful how long you cook. Leaving brownies in the microwave for too long can cause them to overcook.

What I Think

There was a pleasant softness and moistness to the original “normal” brownies. On the other hand, there was a lot of gooeyness to the fudgy brownies, almost as if they had melted. They didn’t appeal to me, but my partner liked them. Microwaves are excellent for reheating stale brownies.

Why Should Brownies Be Reheated?

Regardless of the temperature, brownies can be eaten at any time. However, warm brownies are my favorite treat, as you might have noticed.

There is something rich and fudgy about brownies. There’s nothing like a piece of chocolate cake, but this is much moister, dense, and chocolaty. In addition to a lot of butter and melted chocolate, brownies are made with eggs heavily aerated with brown sugar.

I won’t settle for anything less than warm, moist, chewy brownies. The good news is that reheating brownies is actually quite simple! Microwaves, toaster ovens, or convection ovens can be used for this purpose.

It is crucial to let brownies cool to room temperature, preferably higher, to restore their soft, chewy, and moist texture.

Do Brownies Taste Better The Next Day?

Because the moisture in brownies is more evenly distributed over time, brownies taste better the next day. The best way to ensure that your brownies stay soft during this process is to keep them at room temperature.

What Is The Best Way To Make Brownies Moist Again?

If brownies are frozen, thaw them or reheat them in the microwave or oven to make them moist again. In addition to whipped cream, ice cream, or ganache, you can serve your brownies with a wet topping for extra moistness.

Is It Better To Serve Brownies Hot Or Cold?

Most people prefer warm brownies at room temperature, but they can be served hot or cold. The reason for this is that cold brownies can be hard to chew.

Is It Possible To Reheat Homemade Brownies?

Homemade brownies can be reheated in the microwave, oven, or toaster oven following the instructions above.

Final Words

When you’re craving something, those few minutes can feel like a lifetime, but trust me, it’s worth it. So don’t settle for cold brownies anymore now that you’ve seen just how easy and fast it can be to warm them up.
